Hiring Process
Applying for a certified or support staff position with the District:
- Complete the district application for the position in which you are interested.
- Submit a current resume (required for certified positions).
- Upon completion, applications will be reviewed. Based on district needs, necessary interviews will be scheduled. Selected candidates will be contacted via email, phone, or Zoom for interviews as vacancies occur.
- Applicants interested in certified positions must possess at minimum a bachelor’s degree and must hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri teaching certificate.

HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Versailles High School is seeking a highly organized, professional, and community-focused individual to serve as our High School Administrative Assistant. This position is often the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and community members and plays a vital role in the daily operations of the school. It offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on students, staff, and families while serving as an essential member of the Versailles High School team.
Primary responsibilities include maintaining student attendance records, collecting and processing student fees and other school-related funds, managing office communications, assisting students and families, maintaining confidential records, coordinating school correspondence, supporting administrators and staff, and performing a variety of clerical and organizational duties necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the high school office.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, proficiency with technology and office software, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Versailles is located in central Missouri, just a short drive to Jefferson City and Sedalia. The southern portion of our district contains the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. CUSTODIAL/MAINTENANCE:
DAY & EVENING SCHOOL CUSTODIANS
Reports To: Facilities/Maintenance Director
Starting Salary: $15.50/hour
Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment for students, staff, and community members. Performs routine cleaning, light maintenance, and security duties during scheduled hours (either day or evening) to ensure the facility for the instruction.
Essential Duties:
● Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
● Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and vacuum floors; empty trash and recycling.
● Sanitize restrooms, wipe desks and high-touch surfaces, restock supplies.
● Set up/tear down rooms for events and meetings.
● Lock and secure buildings at the end of shift.
● Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or vandalism.
● Perform minor repairs and operate custodial equipment safely.
● Assist with snow removal or weather-related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
● Custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
● Ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow safety procedures.
● Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
● Stand and walk for extended periods; frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, and climbing.
● Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
Work Schedule:
● Daytime shift (typically before/during school hours) OR Evening shift (typically after school hours).
● Occasional overtime for special events or emergencies.

The Morgan County R-II school district in Versailles, Missouri, is accepting applications for a paraprofessional to work with students in the special services program. SPECIAL SERVICES:
GIFTED & TALENTED TEACHER
Position: Gifted & Talented Teacher
School Year: 2026-2027
Contract: 9 month contract, Four-Day School Week
The Morgan County R-II School District (Versailles, MO) is seeking a full-time Gifted & Talented Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must hold a valid Missouri DESE Gifted Education certification or demonstrate willingness to obtain certification within a district-approved timeline. This is a nine-month contract. The position is supervised and evaluated by the Director of Special Services.
Primary Duties:
- Provide direct instructional services to students identified as gifted in accordance with Missouri DESE guidelines.
- Collaborate with general educational teachers to support differentiated and enriched instruction.
- Participate in the identification, evaluation, and placement of gifted students.
- Develop and implement appropriate learning plans and enrichment opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and district requirements.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators.
- Participate in professional development, meetings, and other duties as assigned.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS:
The district is always looking for qualified candidates to substitute for our current certified teaching staff. If you are interested in substituting, you must first complete a Support Teaching Application and turn it in to Danielle Johnson, Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools, at the Central Administrative Offices.
