MR. VANSELL'S DRIVER'S ED STUDENTS  LEARN ABOUT LOCAL HISTORY AS THEY LEARN TO DRIVE
Recently in Drivers Ed, students Jaxen Bright and Ryhland Cunningham took a trip from V-Town, to Eldon, Olean, California, and finally to Tipton.
Along the way we stopped at the St. Andrews Cemetery in Tipton to visit the grave of someone who very few know of.  It's the grave of Harold "Gene" Clark.  Clark was one of the founding members, and early songwriters of one of the most influential rock bands of the 1960s known as "The Bryds".  Clark wrote many of the bands early songs that shaped their signature sound.
Gene Clark, and the rest of " The Bryds" were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.  Clark wrote, or co-wrote numerous hits later in life for artists such as Tom Petty, Linda Ronstadt, Robert Plant, the Eagles, etc. before passing away at a young 46 years old.
Pretty cool day with two pretty cool kids!
