The Morgan County R-2 School District covers approximately 209 square miles. It includes the communities of Versailles, Gravois Mills, Laurie, Glensted and Excelsior. There are approximately 1,300 students in grades PreK-12.


District programs include: A+ Program, Adult Education, At-Risk, Gifted Education, Co-curricular/Extra-Curricular Activities, Parents As Teachers (PAT), Parent/Teacher Organization (PAT), Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), Preschool, Special Education, and Booster Clubs.

Jeffrey B. Carter Performing Arts Center

The Jeffrey B. Carter Performing Arts Center opened its doors in January 2017. The Jeffrey B. Carter Performing Arts Center houses a beautiful auditorium and theatre space, gallery space, and ticket booth. The Performing Arts Center (PAC) was funded exclusively through grant funding and private donations. The Performing Arts Center (PAC) is used for educational and community arts programs.
