Instead of bringing gifts to exchange, the elementary grade levels chose to support a cause or charity this Christmas season. The 5th grade class chose to do a penny war to raise funds for a family who recently lost their house due to a fire. The 5th grade raised approximately $827. We are proud of all that are students are doing to help others. Way to go Tigers!

Learning About Newton's Third Law of Motion in Mrs. Courter's and Mrs. Vandel's 5th Grade Science Classes
Recently, in Mrs. Teresa Courter’s and Mrs. Vandel’s 5th grade science classes, students were learning about the Newton’s Third Law of Motion - for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. To study the Newton’s Third Law of Motion, the students made balloon operated cars. Students were given the same set of supplies to work with when creating their car (e.g. Straws, peppermints for tires, paper, tape, balloons, and rubber bands). When the air was released from the balloon attached to their cars, the cars traveled in the opposite direction proving Newton’s Third Law of Motion. The students also got to race their cars to see how far their cars would go. #UnitedForTigerExcellence
